Richard Kohout
Mission Area Director, Counterterrorism, Borders, and Immigration
 

Mr. Richard Kohout has a B.A. in Government from Hamilton College and a M.A. degree in Security Policy Studies from The George Washington University. Prior to joining the Institute, Mr. Kohout spent 13 years at the Center for Naval Analyses (CNA) as an operations analyst, field representative, and project director performing a wide range of operational analyses for the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, and joint commands. He spent five years assigned to USMC operational commands in Hawaii and California. Mr. Kohout deployed to Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003 to assess battlefield command and control and again in 2004 to analyze the costs and contributions of a prototype USMC special operations unit. He also served as CNA’s Scientific Analyst to the Director of Operations, Plans, and Political-Military Affairs on the Navy staff.  Mr. Kohout is a Fellow and currently is the Mission Area Director for Counterterrorism, Borders, and Immigration issues.
